Shoveling!

Shoveling driveways, a snowball fight, King of the Snow Hill, some hot chocolate and a brief talk about Lies...great to have everyone out!

Isn't it crazy how easy it is to lie??  And to think, the motivation usually comes from not wanting to deal with the truth at that moment...we don't think how bad it's going to be later when it comes up (and it almost ALWAYS does)...we're just concerned about now :p

Know what's scary though?  The Bible calls Satan the Father of Lies in John chapter 8.  So when we get into a rut of lying, we're being more easily influenced by Satan rather than Christ!  Yikes!

All is not lost though, we can start to pray against this, and ask our friends to help hold us accountable!

If we call ourselves Christians, we HAVE to be different!  Stand up and Stand out!

Next Week: Games/Gym Night! 7-9pm New Hope Community Church

Skating!!

SUCH a perfect night for skating last night!  Had fun dodging snowballs, playing tag, wishing there was more hot chocolate, and loving the temperature/conditions!  So great to see everyone that came out!

Jan. 11th - Honour

So, "Honour" is the Canadian/UK spelling...it's not a type-o  :p
Last night we got talking about how 'honour' affects our relationships.
We talked about how girls ought to be making sure the guys they date are 'honourable' and how guys should be first learning to treat their mom/sisters with 'honour' before they attempt to date someone.  Cause, think of it this way, if they have no respect for their mom and sister, how can they think they can just flip a switch and treat a different girl any better?  They're used to treating girls without honour, so their girlfriend is eventually going to be treated the same way.  And, back to the girls for a sec...so many girls don't really CHOOSE their boyfriends, despite the fact that they think they do...  For many girls, they merely find someone who will accept them...not just anyone, but usually someone who's popular who will accept them.  How crazy is that??
Guys and Girls...BOTH need to get Honour into their way of life a lot more.  Guys, start treating the women God's already put in your life with respect and honour and it will prepare you to treat the princess God's got for you the way He wants you to treat her.  Girls, get "Honourable" into your list of things you want in your guy.  Someone who will be ok with you not doing all the physical stuff some other girls will...and a guy who will commit to something long-term.
Seem like stuff that's way over typical Jr.High stuff?  Well, the sooner you wrap your head around this stuff, the better...trust us!

Next Week: Skating @ Victoria Park.  Free.  Bring a friend.  Meet & get picked-up down there.  Don't forget to dress warm and bring your skates!

Crush...

Had a great time last night chattin about Crushes and the things guys and girls want in future husbands and wives...the guys said they're lookin for Hot Babes who are Christians and who can cook...lol...and the girls, it was said, described a girl pretty much for what they want in their 'man'...lol... Interesting though...don't think you're far enough away from marriage that your choices don't matter now!
Next week: Drop-In!

Food Bank

Had a great time helping out at the Food Bank!  Thanks to those who came out to lend  a hand and make a difference!  3300 families are helped by the Food Bank each month!  Matthew 25:40 says "whenever you did it for the least of these, you did it to me" ...meaning that when we put the less fortunate ahead of ourselves for something like this, it's as good as doing it for God...pretty amazing...
